SimonSays stores your learning progress on your own device, and — only if you choose to sign in — in your own Google Drive. The only measurement we use is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-less and aggregate — it cannot identify you and sees none of your learning data. We show no ads, operate no server that receives your learning data, and sell nothing to anyone.
Learning state (words you've marked, episodes watched, playback positions, preferences) is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. It never leaves your device unless you use backup.
If you sign in with Google, your email address and name are read from your Google account solely to display who is signed in. They are kept in memory only and are gone when you close the page.
If you back up or enable sync, your learning state is written as a single file to the application-private area of your own Google Drive (the appDataFolder). Only SimonSays running in your browser can read that file. We — the operators of this site — cannot: there is no server-side component, and no copy of your data ever reaches us.
SimonSays requests the minimal Google scopes needed: your basic profile (to show you're signed in) and drive.appdata (to store your own backup file in your own Drive). Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Local data: clear this site's data in your browser settings. Drive backup: remove SimonSays under Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions — either deletes the stored file's accessibility to the app; "Delete hidden app data" in Drive settings removes the file itself.
SimonSays sets no tracking cookies and includes no advertising scripts.
Cloudflare Web Analytics. To count visits and measure page performance, this site loads a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com. It uses no cookies, no local storage and no fingerprinting, and collects only aggregate metrics such as page views, referrer, browser family and country. The data is processed by Cloudflare under Cloudflare's privacy policy; we see only aggregate dashboards and cannot identify individual visitors. Your learning state is never sent to it.
Embedded YouTube videos and Google Sign-In are provided by Google and are governed by Google's privacy policy when you interact with them.
